Examination
Applicant must pass the state examination administered by PSI and approved by the Commission. The examination fee is $121. Persons applying for a salesperson’s license must apply within twelve months of passing the state exam. After twelve months have passed the exam must be re-taken.

Fees
Applicant must pay the appropriate licensing fee as described below:

• If applying within 3 months of passing the state exam, the fee is $170;
• If applying more than 3 months but less than 12 months of passing the state exam, the fee is $340.

This amount covers all fees due for the first four years of licensure.

Experience
There are no experience requirements for a salesperson’s license.

Background Check
All Georgia real estate license applicants must obtain and bring to the testing center (not to the Commission), a copy of the applicant’s Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) Report also known as a criminal history, prior to receiving a license. Such reports must not be more than sixty days old. The applicant can obtain a GCIC Report from any local sheriff’s office or police department. If the report indicates any crime, convictions or sanctions by any licensing or regulatory agency, the Commission will conduct an investigation and decide whether it will issue a license.
