Policies and Procedures

Entrance Criteria:

Be at least 18 years of age. Be a high school graduate or the holder of a certificate of equivalency.

Courtney E McCord School of Real Estate, LLC (CEMSORE) will comply with all relevant provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

School Information and Approval:

Courtney E McCord School of Real Estate, LLC (CEMSORE) is approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC). Our School Code #8081, renewal 12-31-2024 for the purpose of offering Georgia-approved real estate courses including, salesperson prelicense, broker prelicense, CAM prelicense, postlicense and continuing education courses. Courses including in-class and virtual live class schedules can be obtained from CEMSORE’s website, www.cemsore.com, or by contacting a school director at info@cemsore.com.

Instructors:

Gregory Lamar McCord, CEMSORE School Director is approved by GREC to teach all the approved courses offered by CEMSORE. Additional instructors may be approved by GREC to teach courses for CEMSORE.

RECRUITING:

No recruiting for employment opportunities for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed in this class or on the school premises. Promptly report any recruiting efforts by anyone, including a fellow student to the School Director, Gregory Lamar McCord 404.662.3352 or by contacting the Georgia Real Estate Commission. Commission Rule 520-2-02 (10) (formerly Rule 520-2-.15).

Scheduled dates, locations, policies, and prices are subject to change without notice.

Attendance:

(IN-CLASS) – All mobile devices MUST be turned off before entering the classroom. Attendance (IN-CLASS) is based on a Sign-in Roster, which must be signed by the student before each session of class. Failure to sign in shall result in an official absence. Students may not sign other students in and out of class.

(Virtual ZOOM) – ZOOM keep track of your LOGIN / LOGOUT time. Students MUST be on time and remain in class for the duration of each class session to receive credit. If a student misses 12 hours of class time AND has made prior arrangements with the instructor to make up the missed hours, the student will be allowed to continue attending class.

If a student misses more than 12 hours of class time and has not made prior arrangements with the instructor to make up the missed time, then the student will be dropped from the class. CEMSORE will notify the student by email and voice mail that they have been dropped from the class. If the student wishes to continue becoming a real estate agent, the student will be required to register for the next Prelicense class and pay a retake fee of $249.00.

If a student missed less than 12 hours of class time, the student will be able to make up the missed time by attending a scheduled make up class session with the instructor. The student will be allowed to continue attending class. Contact School Director for detail information. 

Refunds:

All refunds will be issued to the credit card or debit card that was used when the student enrolled in the course.

If a student withdraws BEFORE attending the first scheduled class session by notifying the school in writing, the student is entitled to a refund of the money paid less $50.00 for an administrative fee.

If a student withdraws AFTER attending the first scheduled class session and before the next scheduled class session and notifies the school in writing, the student will receive a refund minus $125.00 to cover the cost of the book and an administrative fee.

If a student withdraws after attending the second scheduled class session, the student is not entitled to any refund.

Cancellations:

Sufficient enrollment required to meet each instructor led class. CEMSORE reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine instructor led classes.

CEMSORE reserves the right to change instructors, enrollment fees, and/or classroom assignments when necessary. In the event CEMSORE cancels an instructor led class, student will receive a full refund.

In the event CEMSORE cancels a class session due to weather or other unsafe conditions, students will be notified via email of the class session cancellation as soon as possible.

The cancelled class session will be rescheduled. The makeup date will be announced by the instructor at the next scheduled class session.

School Records:

CEMSORE will maintain the following information in each student record for a period of at least five years: student’s name, address, real estate license number, date of enrollment, course title, and records reflecting attendance and certifying score.

Continuing Education:

Three (3) and six (6) hour courses are non-refundable and non-transferable. Continuing education students will not receive any continuing education credit for taking a class if they have taken the same course within the previous 12 months.

Transfer:

Students wishing to transfer to another prelicense class, must discuss the situation with the school director. The student may have to pay a transfer fee of $55.00.

Classroom Preparation (Homework):

Students are responsible for reading each chapter fully and completing each chapter end quiz and worksheet prior to class and discussion. Students receive a course syllabus on the first day of class which lists which chapters are the reading assignment and what worksheets need to be completed. Required homework assignments must be completed satisfactorily before taking a school final examination.

Final Exam:

GREC requires students to take a course final exam. This is given on the last day of class. The course final exam consists of 152 multiple choice questions. Students are allotted four (4) hours to take the exam. There is no additional fee for the course final exam.

To be eligible to take the course final exam, the student must:

  • have paid the course enrollment fee in full; and
  • have attended a minimum of 75 hours of class time.

 

Students must pass the exam with a minimum of 72% to receive credit for completing the course. GREC mandates that students have two opportunities to take the course final exam.

Retake Exam:

If the student needs to retake the course final exam, the student will need to contact the school director to schedule their retake exam at CEMSORE Corporate Training Center office location, date, and time convenient to the student. The school director will notify the student via email that the date and time are confirmed and scheduled.

If a student needs to retake the course exam, they must do so within 2 months of the class end date. If the student does not retake the exam within the allotted two months, the student will forfeit the opportunity to retake the exam.

If a student fails the course exam twice, GREC requires the student to retake the course in its entirety. The student may retake the course in the classroom OR virtual zoom one time for a reduced fee of $249.00. To pay the retake fee, the student must retake the course within one year of the class end date.

Course Credit:

To receive credit for completing the course, the student must have:

  • completed all homework assignments; and
  • attended a minimum of 75 hours of class time; and
  • pass the course final exam with a score of 72%
 
Certification:

Upon completion of a course, CEMSORE will electronically submit the student’s completion to the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) within two (2) days of the student passing the course final exam. CEMSORE must have electronically submitted the student’s course information to GREC prior to the student being able to schedule their state exam.

Upon receipt of the student’s course completion, GREC will export the student’s information to Professional Services (PSI)/ Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). **They proctor the state exam for GREC. ** PSI/AMP will then send an email to the student with instructions on how to schedule their state exam. It is highly recommended that students take the state exam as soon as possible after passing the course final exam.

Disruptions:

Students are not to be disruptive or disrespectable to other students and/or the instructor. The instructor controls the classroom. If an instructor deems that a student is being disruptive and disrespectable, the student will be asked to leave the class immediately and will not be permitted to return to the class. The student will not be entitled to a refund.

Weapons:

CEMSORE prohibits all persons who enter the buildings where classes are held from carrying a handgun, firearm, knife, or other weapon of any kind regardless of whether the person is licensed to carry a weapon or not.

Miscellaneous: 

Students are not permitted to record videos of the instructors or any class sessions. Students are not permitted to take pictures or record videos of any PowerPoint presentations.

At the instructor’s discretion, students can bring drinks and/ or snacks to class. Be considerate of other students and the instructor when bringing drinks and/or snacks. Students are required to clean their area up at the end of each class session. Trash needs to be disposed of in the trash cans.
