Georgia Real Estate Commission Approval

Courtney E McCord School of Real Estate, LLC (CEMSORE) is XXXXXX by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC) to offer the following as instructor led classes:

  • a 75-hour Pre-License Salesperson course; and
  • a 25-hour Post-License course; and
  • a 60-hour Pre-License Brokers course; and
  • various continuing education courses approved for CE credit hours

The following instructors have been approved by the Georgia Real Estate Commission to teach the 75- hour Prelicense Salesperson course based on their field of expertise, teaching experience and knowledge of the subject matter: Gregory Lamar McCord

Gregory Lamar McCord, Courtney E McCord School of Real Estate, LLC director is responsible for selecting instructors to conduct classes affiliated with the Courtney E McCord School of Real Estate, LLC.  

Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA)

Non-Discrimination

The school does not discriminate in the fees, enrollment or completion policies on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, familial status or handicap.

Student Attendance

Students are required to be on time and attend a minimum of 75 hours class time in order to be eligible to take the course final exam.

REFUNDS

All refunds will be issued to the credit card or debit card that was used when the student enrolled in the course.

If a student withdraws BEFORE attending the first scheduled class session by notifying the school in writing, the student is entitled to a refund of the money paid less $XXXX for an administrative fee.

If a student withdraws AFTER attending the first scheduled class session and before the next scheduled class session and notifies the school in writing, the student will receive a refund minus $XXXX to cover the cost of the book and an administrative fee.

If a student withdraws after attending the second scheduled class session, the student is not entitled to any refund.

CLASS CANCELLATIONS

Sufficient enrollment is required to convene each instructor led class. CEMSORE reserves the right to cancel, reschedule or combine instructor led classes.

CEMSORE reserves the right to change instructors, enrollment fees, and/or classroom assignments when necessary. In the event CEMSORE cancels an instructor led class, student will receive a full refund.

In the event CEMSORE cancels a class session due to weather or other unsafe conditions, students will be notified via email of the class session cancellation as soon as possible.

The cancelled class session will be rescheduled. The makeup date will be announced by the instructor at the next scheduled class session.

RECRUITING

No Recruiting for license affiliation for any real estate brokerage firm is allowed during a class session or one hour immediately before the class session starts or within one hour after the class session ends.

TRANSFERS

Students wishing to transfer to another prelicense class, must discuss the situation with the school director. The student may have to pay a transfer fee of $XXXX.

WEAPONS

CEMSORE prohibits all persons who enter the buildings where classes are held from carrying a handgun, firearm, knife or other weapon of any kind regardless of whether the person is licensed to carry a weapon or not.

ADVERTISING

From time to time, CEMSORE will take pictures of the class. Some of these pictures or images may be used in future advertisements, website and marketing literature and/or promotional videos for CEMSORE. By acknowledging receipt of this form below, you grant permission to CEMSORE to use the pictures and images for the above purposes.

Students are required to sign in at the beginning of each session and sign out at the end of each session. If a student does not sign in and sign out for each class session, it will be deemed that the student was absent. Students may not sign other students in and out of class.

If a student misses 12 hours of class time AND has made prior arrangements with the instructor to make up the missed hours, the student will be allowed to continue attending class.

If a student misses more than 12 hours of class time and has not made prior arrangements with the instructor to make up the missed time, then the student will be dropped from the class. The school will notify the student by email and voice mail that they have been dropped from the class. If the student wishes to continue becoming a real estate agent, the student will be required to register for the next prelicense class and pay a retake fee of $XXXX.

If a student misses less than 12 hours of class time, the student will be able to make up the missed time by

1) attending a cram course conducted by an CEMSORE instructor for an additional fee or,  

2) attend a scheduled make up class session with the instructor. The student will be allowed to continue attending class.

Classroom Preparation (Homework)

Students are responsible for reading each chapter fully and completing each chapter quiz and/or worksheet prior to class and discussion. Students receive a course syllabus on the first day of class which lists course outline, reading assignment and what worksheets need to be completed.

Supplementary Materials

The instructor will email additional supplemental materials to the students. The students are responsible for printing the materials and bringing to the class.

Midterm Exam

Halfway through the class, students will take a midterm exam. This is basically a review for the students to ensure they are retaining and understanding the information that the instructor has taught them. The midterm exam consists of 100 multiple choice questions. Students are allotted two (2) hours to take the exam. There is no additional fee for the exam.

Final Exam

GREC requires students to take a course final exam. This is given on the last day of class. The course final exam consists of 152 multiple choice questions. Students are allotted four (4) hours to take the exam. There is no additional fee for the course final exam.

To be eligible to take the course final exam, the student must:

  • have paid the course enrollment fee in full; and
  • have attended a minimum of 75 hours of class time.

Students must pass the exam with a minimum of 72% to receive credit for completing the course. GREC mandates that students have two opportunities to take the course final exam.

Retake Exam

If the student needs to retake the course final exam and the instructor has not specified a date for retakes, the student will need to contact the school coordinator to schedule their retake exam at an office location, date and time convenient to the student. The school coordinator will need to confirm with the office location staff to verify the office can accommodate the requested date and time. The school coordinator will notify the student via email that the date and time are confirmed and scheduled.

 If a student needs to retake the course exam, they must do so within 2 months of the class end date. If the student does not retake the exam within the allotted two months, the student will forfeit the opportunity to retake the exam.

If a student fails the course exam twice, GREC requires the student to retake the course in its entirety. The student may retake the course in the classroom one time for a reduced fee of $XXXX. To pay the retake fee, the student must retake the course within one year of the class end date.

COURSE CREDIT

To receive credit for completing the course, the student must have:

  • completed all homework assignments; and
  • attended a minimum of 75 hours of class time; and
  • pass the course final exam with a score of 72%

The school will electronically submit the student’s completion to GREC within 24 business hours of the student passing the course final exam. The school must have electronically submitted the student’s course information to GREC prior to the student being able to schedule their state exam.

Upon receipt of the student’s course completion, GREC will export the student’s information to Professional Services (PSI)/ Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). **They proctor the state exam for GREC. ** PSI/AMP will then send an email to the student with instructions on how to schedule the state exam. It is highly recommended that students take the state exam as soon as possible after passing the course final exam.

DISRUPTIONS

Students are not to be disruptive or disrespectable to other students and/or the instructor. The instructor controls the classroom. If an instructor deems that a student is being disruptive and disrespectable, the student will be asked to leave the class immediately and will not be permitted to return to the class. The student will not be entitled to a refund.

If the student wants to continue becoming a real estate agent through CEMSORE, the student will be permitted to enroll in the next prelicense class. The student will be able to pay a reduced fee of $XXXX when enrolling in the next class. The student will need to contact the school to get the promo code for the reduced fee. The class hours that the student attended in the previous class will not carry over to the new class.

MISCELLANOUS

Students are not permitted to record videos of the instructors or any class sessions. Students are not permitted to take pictures or record videos of any PowerPoint presentations.

At the instructor’s discretion, students are allowed to bring drinks and/ or snacks to class. Be considerate of other students and the instructor when bringing drinks and/or snacks.

Students are required to clean their area up at the end of each class session. Trash needs to be disposed of in the trash cans.

 PRELIMINARY DECISIONS for PERSONS with CRIMINAL CONVICTIONS or SANCTIONS

The Georgia Rea l Estate Commission (GREC) has the authority to deny a license to any otherwise qualified candidate who has a prior criminal conviction, or a disciplinary sanction issued by an occupational licensing body.

GREC has a Preliminary Decision Process to allow a prospective licensee to apply for a preliminary decision and ask the Commission to advise him or her whether, considering the prospect’s record, the Commission would ultimately grant a license to the prospect.
